Margie considers Africa's diverse bird life to be as inspirational to her as its larger wildlife; her recent bird paintings have aimed to contrast the fine plumage of her painted birds with looser, more painterly brushstrokes depicting rugged cliff faces and other bird habitats. In other works she has aimed to depict specific bird behaviour through complex, multilayered compositions which provide intriguing detail for closer scrutiny. Margie has also produced a suite of mixed media lino prints of iconic southern African birds. These are shown at the end of this folder and are printed on handmade German archival paper, in a limited edition of 30 prints. Image area is A4 in size excluding the plain border.
